Horsemanship Classes
Our program is designed to teach the student a broad range of horsemanship skills in addition to how to ride a horse.
|| The program’s goals and objectives are:
- Teach well-rounded horsemanship
- Teach caring and respect for animals
- Keep students safe
- Present students with challenging yet attainable goals
- Provide an environment where the student can build self-esteem and confidence
|| The program consists of the following:
- How to safely be around and work around a horse
- How to groom and lead a horse
- How to saddle and bridle a horse
- Proper seat position and balance
- How to control and guide a horse
- Gaits of the horse
- Pattern work
More advanced horseback activities will be taught if the student as a particular interest. This program is paced for the student’s abilities. Special interests are taken into consideration during lesson planning and goal setting.
