Getting Started
Your first riding lesson will be an evaluation of your riding ability to help us determine your abilities. Your instructor will conduct your lesson, explain our school procedures and take you on a short tour of our facility to acquaint you with the locations of the office, stables, tackrooms, restrooms, and other important areas. You may schedule your next lesson at the end of your evaluation or at a later date. The first lesson evaluation takes about an hour (tour, lesson and evaluation) and costs $75.00.

Call our office at 480-861-2606 or stop by in person to make an appointment for  your first evaluation. You must schedule the evaluation before you can begin riding lessons. The evaluation fee of $75.00 must be paid for at the time of reservation. Subsequent private lessons are $50 each.

|| Riding Clothes and Equipment
For your comfort and safety, we require a few basic items. You will need a pair of boots or hard-soled shoes with a 1/2" heel. Jeans or long pants should also be worn. Whatever you choose, make sure they are comfortable and fit properly.

For the safety of all students, an approved riding helmet must always be worn. Matt Mills Riding Academy will provide helmets for use during your first few lessons, but you are required to purchase your own ASTM-SEI approved helmet after your first lesson package is completed.
